In the igus® in-house test laboratory for noise emissions, all robots, conveyor technology machines and accessories are tested for their noise emissions. The emission values are decisive for use in various application environments such as laboratories, manual workstations or production environments. During the development of igus® robots, attention is paid to low-noise operation in order to protect the health of the people who work with the robots.
The noise emission of the delta robot of type "reach: 260 mm" is tested for two programs:
The robot speed is at its maximum (100 % speed for axis movements, 2000 mm/s for linear movements, 100 % global speed). The delta robot is not loaded.
Result: The parallel control of the axis generates the highest measured values on average: maximum 68 dBA, average 63 dBA. This is slightly quieter than a hoover.
Parameters | programme 1 | Parameters | programme 2 |
---|---|---|---|
𝑣 = 100 % 𝑝 = 0 kg | 𝑉 max. = 63 [dBA] 𝑉 average = 60 [dBA] | 𝑣 = 100 % 𝑝 = 0 kg | 𝑉 max. = 68 [dBA] 𝑉 average = 63 [dBA] |
𝑣 = 70 % 𝑝 = 1 kg | 𝑉 max. = 64 [dBA] 𝑉 average = 59 [dBA] | 𝑣 = 80 % 𝑝 = 1 kg | 𝑉 max. = 64 [dBA] 𝑉 average = 61 [dBA] |
𝑣 = 60 % 𝑝 = 3 kg | 𝑉 max. = 63 [dBA] 𝑉 average = 56 [dBA] | 𝑣 = 60 % 𝑝 = 3 kg | 𝑉 max. = 63 [dBA] 𝑉 average = 59 [dBA] |
Based on VDI guideline 2058 "Assessment of noise at the workplace taking into account different activities", the aim was to analyse the noise emission for different test parameters such as speed and load. The equivalent continuous sound level according to DIN 45 641 was thus determined for the individual parameters. (see diagram 1)
Result: The equivalent continuous sound level of the ReBeL® with six degrees of freedom is 58.2 dBA, which corresponds to the noise emission of a conversation. The ReBeL® is therefore quieter than lightweight robots from other manufacturers!
Three sound measurements were carried out for the following loads:
The same parameters in terms of amplitude and frequency were used for all measurements. These were selected in such a way that the widest possible measuring range was recorded and at the same time the workpieces were conveyed efficiently through the vibrating bowl. The parameters are: [Messdauer 30 s]; [Aplitude 20 bis 30 mm]; [Frequenz 45 bis 35 hz].
Result: Idle operation leads to the highest noise emission.
