For this area of application, igus® offers the drylin® W series, which was specially developed for use in harsh environments. These systems use self-lubricating tribo-optimised materials as sliding elements, which gives them high corrosion resistance and a good service life. This specification makes them ideal for use in the natural stone industry, where weather fluctuations and harsh working conditions are often a challenge. drylin® W-linear guides are configurable online in different sizes. They offer high rigidity and strength to cope with load during the cutting process, ensuring fast and quiet running as well as a precise control system of the cutting arm.
The Q2 bushes are a central component of the saw. This is partly due to the excellent damping properties compared to brass bushes. However, the most important specification is that they are lubricant-free. This prevents the rock from being contaminated by dripping lubricant.
Based on his positive experience with our products, the customer also opted for one of our energy supplies, the E4Q energy chain with an inner height of 58 millimetres.
Our components make the saw robust reliable in its daily work in the quarry. Schwing and igus® are thus creating a sustainable and cost-saving way of cutting stones directly on site, thereby significantly reducing material consumption, time and CO2 emissions in the production process. The conclusion of the collaboration is therefore very clear for Daniel Kriegl: "The support is great and you really have to say that the igus® products are a perfect fit for our application"
