But KMC does not only rely on igus® products for the newly designed link system. They have already proven themselves in various other areas. For example, in foot brake levers, where two igubal® rod ends transmit the force. iglidur® J bearings are used in the footrest system, and the reversing shaft of the gearstick is also connected with an iglidur® bearing. Krämer also relies on iglidur® J bearings for the shift and brake levers. In addition to the weight, the plastics from the motion plastic specialist igus® have another significant advantage: they function lubrication-free. Not only does this save the race technician the expense of lubrication. The use of grease in tough everyday racing conditions would even cause dirt to accumulate in places that could jeopardise the functionality of the component.
Two new trophies were also added in 2018. And the respect of numerous motorsport fans, who were able to experience the agile driving style of the Krämer machines for themselves at racetracks in Europe and the USA. As a result, business is developing well. While only 14 machines found a buyer in 2015, the target for 2018 is to sell around 50 to 75 machines. And then, of course, there should be a few more victories - perhaps even on home soil. While the Super Twin class races are all being held in the UK this year, the Super Mono Championship is also coming to Germany. KMC will once again be at the start of the FIM Europe Supermono Cup at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on 25 and 26 August.
