Motorhomes and caravans need equipment with all kinds of adjustment options to accommodate a lot of function in a small space. Whether linear, swivelling or rotating, with our storage technology we have the right solution for the interior and exterior. Our plain bearings and linear modules made of high-performance polymers score points with quiet, smooth running, low weight and freedom from lubrication.
Whether in the articulated arm of awnings, in the tilt adjustment of satellite dishes, in side mirrors or in the hinges of doors, windows, skylights and seats: Our plastic plain bearings demonstrate their advantages over conventional metal bearings in all of these applications. They are lightweight, run 100 % lubrication-free and do not rust. This makes them ideal for outdoor use on vehicles in particular - moisture, dust and dirt are no problem.
Costs can be reduced by up to 40 % with our plain bearings. They save up to 80 % weight and thus reduce CO2 emissions. In addition, the bearings run particularly quietly, calibrate themselves during the e-coating process and can be installed quickly and easily in sheet metal thanks to flexible mounting concepts.
We have a wide range of linear guides in our programme for linear adjustment of TV screens and tables, in kitchenette and bed pull-outs, sliding doors or bicycle racks. They are the clean, sliding alternative to recirculating ball bearings, 100% lubrication and maintenance-free. With quiet running, corrosion-free and dirt-resistant, they are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, in professional facilities as well as DIY camper conversions.
Very compact when travelling, very spacious on the campsite: in a nutshell, this is the central specification of the "Zoom" caravan prototype developed and built by Ross Design GmbH. Its sleeping alcove and kitchen block can be moved. To ensure that this movement works reliably, the designers relied on our drylin® SLW-linear axis.
The enquiry from FAWO, Europe's largest distributor for caravan interiors, was a challenging one: the experts at CERES needed to produce a maintenance-free, vibration-resistant and durable motorised TV lift. Many years of development expertise and high-quality design elements produced the desired result. A drylin® linear system with a matching dryspin® threaded spindle plays a key role here.
Our lubrication-free dryspin® lead screw technology is used in extendable steps, seat adjustments and steering columns. The plastic nuts and spindle guarantee efficiencies of up to 82 % and a service life that is up to 30 % longer than conventional lead screws. They are ideally suited for small installation spaces and run almost noiselessly even under low drive torques.
Our PRT slewing ring bearings ensure reliable rotational movement, for example in vehicle seats, in the base of tables or satellite dish mounts. The design is not based on metallic rollers or balls, but on maintenance-free sliding elements made of tribologically optimised iglidur® materials in combination with rings made of aluminium or stainless steel. The bearings are robust, quiet and maintenance-free due to their dry operation, and insensitive to moisture and dirt.
When vehicle components and equipment elements are moved electrically, energy chains ensure safe cable routing. Our plastic e-chain® are quiet and lightweight, easy to install and so compact that they fit into small installation spaces. We have numerous variants in our programme, both for linear and rotating movements.
More about e-chain® for automobilesIn our sample box you will find a selection of our most popular products for use in motorhomes and caravans. The box contains, among other things, plain and ball bearings, spherical plain bearings, a linear rail with slide and various energy chains. We have also included a screwdriver and bottle opener - handy if you need them for DIY campervan conversions, for example.
