According to the principle of hanging installation, travel distances, i.e. installation heights, of over 100 metres are possible with our energy chain. Particularly in the area of material flow technology, the energy chain enables the bundled feeding of a wide variety of cable types. The use of an energy chain ensures that individual cables do not get caught in rack sections or protruding pallets.

Movement without lateral acceleration
If the application requires a purely vertical movement without lateral acceleration, the energy chain can be mounted without lateral support.
Movement with lateral acceleration
If lateral acceleration also occurs, lateral guidance of the energy chain must be provided in most cases. The guidance does not always have to be continuous. However, it must at least cover the area in which the energy chain could swing out.
The lateral acceleration then acts transversely to the energy chain, where it is more stable. In the case of guidance, an energy chain with pretension should be selected. This ensures that the energy chain is pressed into the guide trough.
If possible, the energy chain should be mounted as shown in diagram B.
A normal energy chain with pretension from us is suitable for suspended use if sufficient space is available. The pretension contributes to the quiet operation of the energy chain, but requires a little more space due to its slightly bulbous appearance. If there is no space available - as is often the case with rack conveyors in narrow aisles - the energy chain must be ordered without pretension. We offer numerous no camber versions without pretension. no camber stands for no camber.
