Our digital services in detail: Digital consulting | IMPS | smart plastic | online tools | online platforms | apps | enjoyneering®
We are an agile industrial company. Modern tools, software and cloud-based services are the basis for our success, from production and sales to marketing and e-commerce. We use data analytics and process mining for process analysis and optimisation. Based on the DevOps concept, we develop large parts of our software landscape and digital services, such as our product-related online tools, ourselves. Scrum and Kanban are tried-and-tested methods, both in everyday life and in the overarching project work of the various specialist and corporate divisions. With iCollaboration, we have created a company platform based on various apps that enables us to share content with all of our global subsidiaries, provide information and simplify collaboration with blogs, chat, whiteboards, planners and much more.
The home office is an integral part of our working world. With modern software and hardware, everyone can work easily and professionally from home and we are networked with each other using Microsoft Teams. We see mobile working as a useful addition to the exchange on the igus® campus, and we have not yet been able to link our systems just to have lunch together in our canteen and in the kitchen at home. As with many other companies, it was the first phase of the coronavirus pandemic that prompted us to digitise and modernise our working environments more quickly. For our efforts to reach and support our employees and also our customers during this time, the F.A.Z. Institute recognised us in 2021 as an "exemplary company in the crisis"
In October 2022, the Rheinische Post, together with the initiative "Deutschland - Land der Ideen" and the General-Anzeiger Bonn, organised the competition "NRW - Wirtschaft im Wandel" for the fifth time. The competition recognises companies that are particularly successful in their transformation with regard to digitalisation, globalisation and the coronavirus pandemic. In the category "Mittelstand & Konzern", igus® was recognised in particular for the company's strong digital focus.
Our innovations at customer level range from digital tools such as online configurators and digital business models such as online platforms to digitally enhanced products that use sensors to generate, exchange and analyse data - so-called smart plastic. These products are an important building block for predictive maintenance solutions. During development, we live "Fail Fast" and, in accordance with Build-Measure-Learn, we continuously strive to improve our results. Below you will find some examples of our digital services and solutions.
Our digital consultation is possible via smartphone, desktop sharing or chat. This makes virtual visits for assembly aids, drawings, machine inspections and interactive presentations very easy for designers, buyers and all other parties involved. Get in touch with us and we will establish a virtual connection together.
In times of pandemic and working from home, customer contact has become more impersonal and digital. With the IMPS (igus® motion plastic show), we have created an opportunity to present our products to customers as close and as real as possible. Anyone interested can discover the 400 m² physical-virtual trade show stand online. On their own or during a guided tour together with igus® experts live at the trade show stand.
Intelligent energy chain, cable, plain and rotary table bearings as well as linear guides set new standards in maintenance and servicing. These smart plastic products recognise your maintenance requirements, make forecasts and thus avoid system or production downtime. Sensors record the condition of the components and transmit the data. For example, e-chain® can be monitored for tensile and thrust force during operation and serviced before a fault occurs.
For us, a product is only a product if it can be customised online. For this reason, we are constantly working on our online tool to make motion plastic products customisable. Based on our laboratory data, we can also provide reliable information for calculating service life. Below you will find a small selection of online tools that you can try out directly:
