At LES GmbH, a semi-automated saw is extended with a push-off table. The saw is used to cut various aluminium profiles, which are then conveyed to an assembly table by the drygear® Apiro® cantilever axes.
The problem
Alternatively, pneumatic cylinders should be used to extend the saw. These were ruled out due to the already overloaded compressed air system. In addition, the degrees of freedom of the Apiro® axis are greater in comparison, which provides more flexibility in the automated motion sequence.
The solution:
In this solution, several drygear® Apiro® axis are synchronised with one shaft. They are controlled via the D1 dryve motor control unit and a drygear® worm gearbox.
LES GmbH is using the same system to expand a semi-automated packaging line. Here, packages are wrapped in film and then pushed onto a supply via a roller conveyor and the Apiro® axis. This solution for the automated transport of the packages is very time-saving for the warehouse employees and enables an optimised workflow.
