"So-called blown film lines are used to produce very wide and tubular films. Here, a hose is produced by a ring-shaped tool, which is then pulled vertically upwards over a so-called air mandrel. A so-called calibration basket is arranged between the cooling ring (tool) and the flattening device, which defines and stabilises the film circumference (diameter of the bubble). During production, volatile substances (monomers) escape from the film and combine with dirt particles from the air, forming a sticky film that is deposited on the surface of the calibration basket. To ensure a smooth production process, the calibration basket must be cleaned at regular intervals. In most cases, this is done using modern "high-pressure cleaners". With conventional solutions, the lubricant is washed out of the plain bearings or even dirt particles are flushed into the plain bearings. This causes problems in the form of downtimes and therefore costs."
