Table 01: Material data
iglidur® M210 plain bearings provide the user with versatile all-round bearings, which have proven to have above average service life, primarily in pivoting applications at medium loads of up to 20MPa.
Mechanical specification
The maximum recommended surface pressure represents a mechanical material parameter. It cannot be used to draw conclusions about the tribology. the compressive strength of iglidur® P210 plain bearings decreases with increasing temperatures. diagram 02 illustrates this correlation.
diagram. 03 shows the elastic deformation of iglidur® P210 under radial load. Under the maximum recommended surface pressure of 50 MPa, the deformation at room temperature is less than 3 %.
Friction and wear
Like the wear resistance, the coefficient of friction μ also changes with the load (diagram. 04 and 05).

Shaft materials
diagram. 06 shows an extension of the results of tests with different shaft materials that were carried out with iglidur® P210 plain bearings. iglidur® P210 generally shows very low wear with rotating movements under 1 MPa radial load. Only in combination with HR carbon steel shafts is the wear significantly higher. In general, wear is higher with rotation than with swivelling applications under the same load. This is only reversed from loads of 25 MPa (diagram. 07).
