If movement takes place in production, then countless bearings such as plain bearings or linear bearings can be found in the machines. The goals of the designers are usually the same here: bearings with high running performance and low wear are sought that are highly resilient and easy to maintain.
The world-renowned manufacturer of brush production machines - Wöhler Brush Tech - shows how the various bearing points in its machines are equipped with iglidur® and drylin® plain and linear bearings. And what advantages result from this.
Durable, wear-optimised and easy to install
The optimised coefficient of friction of the bearing made of high-performance polymer with incorporated lubricant enables a long service life. This even goes so far that Wöhler sometimes dismantles other bearing types from purchased drive axles and replaces them with iglidur® bearing bushes or drylin® linear bearings.
However, if the bearing's service life comes to an end at some point, the bearing wear does not lead to immediate failure. Instead, increased clearance will gradually become apparent. Sudden production stops are ruled out and bearing replacement can be well planned.
The customer also emphasises the easier installation of bearings made of mono-material compared to plain bearings made of multi-layer material.
