Coordinated, pre-assembled energy chain systems are already standard in many machines today, significantly increasing the functional reliability of entire processes. This is also the case at Assembléon, a manufacturer of pick and place machines. For a new series of machines, the company needed to find cables that were designed for at least 400 million strokes for the many extremely fast lifting movements. Thanks to chainflex® cables, which were specially developed for semiconductor assembly in the world's largest laboratory for moving cables, the customer now benefits from minimal wear and maximum reliability.
In addition to high lateral acceleration, the cables are tested redundantly in three different radii, each in duplicate, and constantly monitored when simulating pick-and-place machines. These test machines, which have been running since 2010 and test the cables for the pick-and-place machines around the clock, provide us with clear information about service life and any necessary preventive maintenance measures.
In addition, the chainflex® cables and plastic energy chains are harmonised in the technical centre in Cologne so that they always meet the required operational reliability in practice. Cross-industry customers should always be able to rely on the results.
