iglidur® J200 is the result of the development of particularly low-friction plain bearings. Friction plays a crucial role, particularly in linear technology applications. While many materials have excellent coefficients of friction under high loads, iglidur® J200 is characterised by the fact that the coefficient of friction is very good even at low loads.
The maximum recommended surface pressure is a mechanical material parameter.
It cannot be used to draw conclusions about tribology. The compressive strength of iglidur® J200 plain bearings decreases with increasing temperatures.
Diagram 02 illustrates this relationship.
Under the maximum permissible load of 23 MPa, the deformation is 3.5 % (diagram. 03). Plastic deformation can be neglected up to this value. However, it also depends on the duration of the impact.
iglidur® J200 allows high sliding speeds due to the very good coefficient of friction. Continuous rotational speeds of 1 m/s are possible. The permissible speeds are even significantly higher for linear movements or in short-term operation. Linear speeds of over 15 m/s have already been successfully tested.

Short-term | 1.5 | 1.1 | 15 |
The maximum permissible temperature of +120 °C must not be exceeded. The heating caused by friction must be added to this. The bearings should be additionally secured mechanically from +60 °C so that there is no risk of the bearings moving out of the hole. The wear resistance also decreases disproportionately from +70 °C.

Of all iglidur®materials, iglidur® J200 has the lowest coefficient of friction. On average, the coefficient of friction of all measurements, even with different shaft materials, is 0.11 μ. Hard-anodised aluminium is particularly important as a mating partner.
The comparison with the other iglidur®materials clearly shows that iglidur® J200 bearings are more suitable for low loads. The influence of surface speed and load on the coefficient of friction is not very pronounced. The decrease in the coefficient of friction with the load is within the normal range (diagrams 04 and 05). With regard to shaft roughness, the optimum lies in the range of 0.2 to 0.4 Ra. In contrast, the influence of the shaft on the wear resistance is very large. Even at low loads, it is worth taking a look at the extensive wear database.

Further information:
The shaft material used has a major influence on the wear resistance. Although all shaft materials (soft or hardened) are suitable for use with iglidur® J200, the best results are achieved with hard-anodised aluminium. This mating partner has proven itself particularly in linear movements.

The moisture absorption of iglidur® J200 bearings is about 0.2 % in a normal climate. The saturation limit in water is 0.7 %. These values are so low that a consideration of the swelling due to moisture absorption is only necessary in extreme cases.

iglidur® J200 plain bearings are standard bearings for shafts with h-tolerance (recommended minimum h9). The bearings are designed to be pressed into an H7-toleranced mounting. After installation in a mounting with nominal dimension H7, the inner diameter of the bearing with E10 tolerance adjusts itself automatically. For certain dimensions, the tolerance deviates from this depending on the wall thickness (see product range).
