The special shape of the bushes ensures that the seal is securely fixed in the component and protects the bearing point from dirt ingress.

Protection against dirt and dust with high loads

We have developed the igutex® TX2 seals for this purpose
igutex® plain bearings are generally insensitive to dust and dirt. However, the biggest challenge lies in corrosion protection. Dirt ingress can damage the anti-corrosion coating of the shafts used. The consequence: rusted shafts, which can subsequently lead to extreme bearing wear.

igus® has now developed the new integrated felt seals for igutex® TX2 plain bearings especially for use in high-load applications. These reliably protect the high-load bearings from dirt and dust and ensure lubrication- and corrosion-free operation.

<br><br>Coiled plain bearing for high load capacity

The Tribo plain bearings made of high-strength filament fabric are used where particularly high loads occur. Here, the extremely tensile filament in its specially woven form ensures maximum resistance and enables a maximum permissible compressive strength of 400 MPa. The newly developed material was extensively tested on the indoor and outdoor test stands in the 3,800 square metre igus® test laboratory.
