3D printed bearings

Smart 3D printed plain bearing

  • Wear parts with sensors via multi-material 3D printing
  • Warning when wear limit is reached
  • Warning in case of overload ► Avoid damage
  • Predictable service life
  • No minimum order quantity
  • Zero lubrication required

Test & development of the 3D printing i.Sense bearing

  • The bearing is printed from 2 materials: igus® tribofilament® (white) and a particularly conductive material (black)
  • The wear of the bearing is measured on the black material.
  • Printed with a multi-material printer
  • The i.Sense technology can be realised on any wear-resistant part with a minimum wall thickness of 2.5 mm
  • The test stand shows a test in which the bearing displays various wear states, thus enabling a service life prediction to be made

DLT.W

DLT.W

  • Makes predictive maintenance (i.Cee) possible
  • Integrated into the linear sliding film
  • Signals wear of the linear sliding film in good time
  • Plannable replacement of the sliding element
DLW.W

DLW.W

  • Makes predictive maintenance (i.Cee) possible
  • A sensor measures the wear of the linear bearing in the drylin® W linear guide
  • When the limit value is reached, it sends a signal that the bearing foil should be changed
PRT.W

PRT.W

  • Makes predictive maintenance (i.Cee) possible
