The company L&K was looking for plain bearings that would work maintenance-free for over 4,000 hours in excavator buckets. Where metal bearings were previously maintenance-intensive and costly, iglidur plain bearings now ensure extended maintenance intervals, even though they are permanently exposed to high loads and weather conditions. L&K is also pleased with the 40% cost savings compared to the composite bearings previously used.

Better durability than radial deep groove ball bearings

The bicycle industry has long recognised the benefits of our plain bearings. Where the Californian mountain bike manufacturer Ibis previously used radial deep groove ball bearings, iglidur plain bearings are now used. As a result, the bearing points in the bike no longer feel so rickety, the bearing points are maintenance-free and durability has been improved. Manufactured and delivered in a flash

The agricultural machinery manufacturer CLAAS required customised plain bearings with special dimensions for its combine harvesters. igus manufactured and delivered the injection-moulded components within seven days. The lubrication- and maintenance-free iglidur plain bearings reduce the maintenance required and increase the service life of the machines.

2 years of maintenance-free and lubrication-free operation

In the packaging and food industry, iglidur plain bearings are used in very different areas.
