New profile rol energy chains for fast handling of metal sheets

The "High-Speed Linear Feeder" from Schuler Automation GmbH & Co. KG can be used to operate press lines with an output of 15 or 17 parts per minute for particularly high efficiency. Developed for the automotive industry and its suppliers, the feeder can also be used for other applications.

Dynamic feeding of blanks
The technical advantages of the latest new development from Schuler Automation lie primarily in the dynamic values. The aim was to increase output even further. This means that all components have to withstand extremely high speeds and accelerations.

Fast, quiet profile rollers-energy chain
With the "P4" system, the upper run and the lower run of the energy chain roll on top of each other in an offset manner. As a result, the tribologically optimised plastic profile rollers are not rolled over, but roll on a continuous wide surface, which further increases the service life of the energy chain. In addition, the pitch of the chain links with and without rollers is the same, so that the energy chain runs particularly smoothly and vibration-free in the radius. The rollers themselves are firmly integrated into the side parts. On request, the system is also available with a cable-friendly "Auto-Glide" crossbar and a special trough system.

Ten metres per second
These features match the "high-speed linear feeder". Sascha Verch, responsible for mechanical design at Schuler Automation: "The focus is on dynamics. Whereas the speed and acceleration for handling the blanks in the previous models were 6 m/s and 16 m/s2 respectively, they are now 10 m/s and 20 m/s2."
