Furnace for the steel industry

Large industrial furnaces are used in the steel industry to heat rolls up to 1000 °C within 240 minutes. Bättenhausen Wärmetechnik GmbH in Wetzlar is a modern manufacturing company that specialises in electrical control systems and switchgear as well as the steel construction of these furnace systems. A completely new type of furnace system has now been designed for a project, which requires approx. 79-90 minutes and therefore only a third of the usual time to heat the rolls.
As the oven is supplied with gas, compressed air and electricity and also requires various control and measuring system cables, a guide system had to be found for all these cables that is both flexible and resistant to the heat in the system. Furthermore, the oven can be moved, which meant that a particularly flexible system had to be used. This is why an energy chain of the E4/00 family from igus® is used today.
