Energy chains for double-girder travelling cranes

In contrast to single-girder overhead travelling cranes, double-girder overhead travelling cranes are designed for significantly higher lifting loads. The cranes usually bridge large hall areas and therefore often require the goods to be transported to be moved quickly.
Robust energy chains, guide troughs and cables for high travelling speeds and accelerations are required here, which can also be easily retrofitted to existing crane systems and enable quiet travel.

e-spool® energy chain - The alternative to the cable drum without slip ring
e-spool® combines two different energy supply systems in a unique way: A standard energy chain is guided by a roller and, thanks to an integrated retaining spring, ensures that the energy supply system is always exactly the right length and tension. In the starting position, the space-saving energy chain is fully retracted. The twisterband connects the roller to the shaft end block, which serves as an interface to the permanently installed cable.

Heat and dust: energy supply under adverse conditions
In Thyssen Krupp's Duisburg hot rolling mill, a slab transport crane from BANG Kransysteme GmbH & Co. KG is responsible for handling the slabs at the interface between the steelworks and the rolling mill - in heat and dust. The supply of energy and signals to the trolley and cab is ensured by heavy duty igus energy chains supplied pre-assembled as basic readychain systems.

Kranservice Herz mainly designs bridge and gantry cranes up to a load capacity of 100t and spans of up to 40m. For a new project - an automatic crane system for loading stainless steel pipes - special environmental conditions were met. Due to the structural conditions on site, the operator required an extremely low clearance height. The solution consisted of pre-assembled energy chains that save 50% storage space.

Robust energy chains for harsh environmental conditions in foundry

Containers containing liquid metal are transported in a foundry using these three cranes. Each crane has a lifting capacity of 100 tons. A hot environment paired with extremely high contamination on the crane due to moulding sand, graphite and metallic dusts is the challenge for energy supply.
