Extra-strong plain bearings in swing axles for semi-trailers

Lubrication saved, production and maintenance costs reduced: Demarko was looking for durable plain bearings and thrust washers for the swing axles of its heavy-duty semi-trailers , which would reduce maintenance costs to a minimum. Bearing points on tail lifts without rust and maintenance

MBB Palfinger relies on iglidur ® Q290 bearings in the twelve bearing points of the lifting gear for its tail lifts for ambulances. The corrosion-resistant, durable material significantly reduces the risk of failure of the tail lifts. Poor lubrication and corrosion were a problem with the previously used metal bearings.

Testedin the test laboratory

In the industry's largest plastic test laboratory, iglidur® bearings, drylin® linear technology and igubal® coupling rods are tested for real applications. The focus here is on investigating the tribological specification of different material pairings and testing assemblies. The results are fed into our online tool for calculating service life and enable precise predictions to be made about durability.

Upon request, igus® also carries out customer tests in order to test the use of the products under very individual conditions.
