igutex TX1 plain bearings represent very high load capacity with high radial loads and good abrasion resistance. The special design ensures high dimensional stability due to the long-fibre winding and solid lubricants and this ensures that a lubrication and maintenance-free operation is possible. High dirt and media resistance complete the specification profile.

Mechanical specification
The compressive strength of igutex® TX1 plain bearings decreases with increasing temperatures. diagram. 02 illustrates this relationship. At the short-term permissible application temperature of +170 °C, the permissible surface pressure is still 100 MPa. The maximum recommended surface pressure represents a mechanical material parameter. Conclusions about the tribology cannot be drawn from this.

Permissible sliding speeds
The typical applications for igutex® TX1 plain bearings are highly loaded swivelling movements with rather low speeds. Irrespective of this, high maximum speeds can be achieved. The speeds specified in Table 03 are limit values for low bearing loads. They say nothing about the wear resistance at these parameters.

Friction and wear
It must be noted that a sliding partner that is too rough increases friction. Shafts that are too smooth also increase the coefficient of friction. We recommend shaft roughness (Ra) of 0.4 to a maximum of 0.7 μm. The coefficient of friction of the igutex® TX1 plain bearing also depends to a large extent on the speed and load. As the surface speed increases, the coefficient of friction also rises rapidly. In contrast, the coefficient of friction decreases continuously with the load.

Wear in oscillating and rotating applications TX1

Shaft materials
The use of hardened shafts is generally recommended in the high-load range. This applies in particular to the use of igutex® TX1. However, even on soft shafts, acceptable wear rates are still achieved in high-load swivelling below 100 MPa. The comparison of the wear rate in rotation and swivelling in diagram 07 makes it clear that the strength of igutex® TX1 lies in high-load swivelling.

Radioactive radiation Bearings made of igutex® TX1 are resistant to radiation up to a radiation intensity of 2 - 102 Gy.

UV resistance igutex® TX1 plain bearings are permanently resistant to UV radiation.

Vacuum In a vacuum, the small water components outgas. Limited use in a vacuum is possible.

Installation tolerances
igutex® TX1 plain bearings are standard bearings for shafts with h-tolerance (recommended minimum h9). The bearings are designed to be pressed into an H7-toleranced mounting. After installation in a mounting with nominal dimensions, the inner diameter of the bearing adjusts itself as specified in the standard case.
