A wide variety of conveyor systems are used to move goods internally. But for roller conveyors, wheel conveyors, roller ball tables, or other transport methods, it is always important to have the right bearing support. iglidur® plain bearings and xiros® ball bearings, conveyor rollers and ball transfer units require no lubrication or maintenance and can ensure reliable conveyor system function even in industries with heavy dirt loads and continuous operation.
When selecting idlers, it is worth looking at the details and - depending on the application - also considering solutions that go beyond the standard. This applies, for example, to the materials (it doesn't always have to be metal) and the possibilities of 3D printing. In goods feeding or other internal goods traffic, conveyor belt function must always be flawless. Product selection at conveyor belt bearing points helps ensure that it is. The renowned Belgian brewery Chimay, known for its traditional Trappist beer, relies on lubrication-free igubal® H3-spherical insert bearings in its bottling plant instead of the metal ball bearings previously installed, which were constantly rusting, damaging the shafts and leading to machine downtime. The change enabled the brewery to increase its efficiency and reduce maintenance work.
Durable, wear-resistant knife-edge rollers made of iglidur material ensure that conveyor belts are reliably deflected even under high loads. The various iglidur materials offer the right properties for any application. For example, iglidur® H1 is designed for continuous operation at particularly high temperatures, while the material iglidur® A250 conforms to FDA and EU/2011 specifications.
At high speeds and in continuous operation, iglidur® knife edge rollers are used in the conveyor belt of Krones AG.
Products can wear quickly within the conveyor technology at fixed plates and on lane walls. To avoid scratches on bottles and premature wear on cartons, surfaces must buffer and have as little friction as possible. Product and container service life can be extended with tribo-tape liners or bar stock plates made of friction-optimised iglidur® materials.
Sliding film in the area of the collection container and the ejection chute minimises frictional resistance in this filling system.
Storage and buffer tables can serve as parts storage to easily handle production peaks. Both the drylin® toothed belt axles and tribo-tape liners guarantee maintenance-free operation.
