drylin® lead screw technology and igus® plain bearing in the shut-off valve

Technical data:

  • What is needed: Faultless flow in fluid technology
  • Requirements: Maintenance-free & lubrication-free,  chemical resistance
  • Material: Maintenance-free iglidur® materials
  • Industry: Fluid technology
  • Success for the customer: The lead screw technology and plain bearings from igus ensure fault-free function of the bearing points

Shut-off valve: The shut-off valve enables the controlled closing and opening of flow openings or pipelines and regulates the flow of fluids in gas and liquid installations. The shut-off valves can be operated manually or with a motor. Unlike ball valves, the shut-off valve is not designed to shut off the flow with a single hand movement, but to throttle it continuously by turning the lead screw several times.

Problem

Wherever media are conveyed and dispensed, faultless functioning of the bearing points is indispensable. Due to the flow of liquids in gas and liquid installations, lubricants must not be used at the bearing points. Furthermore, maintenance work must be kept to a minimum.

Solution

The iglidur® materials not only help to mount completely lubrication-free, but are also characterised by the best sliding properties and their chemical resistance. Higher efficiencies and less maintenance are achieved. Our drylin lead screw technology ensures slow opening and closing of the valve.
