Application highlight
Apiro® gearboxes are used for simple and synchronised lane adjustment at Rivella's bottling plant in Switzerland. The system can now be adjusted for the 0.2 litre, 0.5 litre and 1.0 litre bottle sizes at the touch of a button.
Modern packaging systems are confronted with a wide range of requirements, from intensive cleaning processes and extreme temperature fluctuations to clogging dust and dirt in the machine environment. Our products for the packaging industry include corrosion-resistant bearing technology with low moisture absorption as well as high-performance materials for extreme temperatures. Thanks to their lubrication-free function, they operate maintenance-free and reliably in the following applications, even with clogging powder, adhesive or paraffin.
Storage technology with daily cleaning under hot steam, high pressure and chemical agents in yoghurt filling plant
bearing in bottling plant using slightly alkaline and acidic solutions, disinfectants and hot water
High-performance bearings for temperature fluctuations from -100°C to +250°C in brewery systems
Robust plastic bearings in high humidity and daily cleaning in PET bottling plant
lubrication-free linear bearings work reliably on the inkjet print head despite high powder volumes
Reliable roller bearings thanks to non-stick plain bearings in conveyor technology
toothed belt axis for failure-free product transport with high paraffin content in a packaging system for candles
The stringent requirements for "Hygienic Design" in the food and beverage industry are reflected in strict regulations such as the American FDA or the European EC Regulation. In these application examples, we meet the high industry standards with our completely lubrication-free, easy-to-clean and chemical-resistant bearing products. For example, in direct contact with sausage, ham and cheese products or when packing fruit and vegetables, they prevent contamination of the sensitive products - in continuous operation in highly dynamic systems.

Hygienic design energy chain in high-performance slicing systems
Hygienic design energy chain in high-performance slicing systems
Lubrication-free knife edge rollers prevent product contamination in conveyor systems for meat products
High-performance bearings for temperature fluctuations from -100°C to +250°C in brewery systems
Customised storage technology for hygiene-sensitive multihead weighers
Fast, faster, fastest. In the packaging industry, ever more efficient and highly automated systems are in demand, which can fulfil high service lives in continuous operation seven days a week. In this competition to outperform, machine performance also stands and falls with the storage technology, which must reliably guarantee the numerous swivelling, pushing or rolling movements at all stations. In these application examples, customers rely on robust, wear-resistant and durable bearing technology and energy supply in cutting machines, cleaning and filling systems or in conveyor technology.

Highly flexible systems are more in demand than ever in the packaging industry. Format adjustments play a key role in efforts to design individual machine stations such as labellers, filling systems or conveyor units to be as modular as possible for easy integration into existing systems. In these success stories, our bending-resistant linear axis and rail systems have been used for numerous lateral, vertical or transverse adjustments in a wide variety of packaging systems: from simple manual adjustment tasks using manual clamps to automated format adjustments coordinated by motor control.
Simple and efficient: Format adjustment on conveyor belts with modular Apiro® gearboxes
Torsion-resistant double-shaft profiles for format adjustment in Krones inspection technology
Adjustment of the 600 kg labelling unit in a filling line with a drylin® linear axis
Durable and economical bearing for the automation of format adjustment in tray inserts
Reliable format adjustment of deflection rollers or infeed and outfeed sensors in labelling machines
Precise positioning in labelling machines at 1,000 bottles per minute
linear axis for numerous lateral and height adjustments in modern testing and packaging systems
Motorised linear spindle tables for numerous adjustment tasks in film packaging systems
Safe positioning of the 80 kg filling head in the filling system
With high machine outputs in continuous operation and time pressure, packaging systems must not break down. If a bearing does wear out unexpectedly, we can help. To ensure that our bearing technology can be integrated as flexibly as possible into existing machine concepts, we offer our drylin® linear bearing portfolio and our iglidur® plain bearings as simple modular kits that can be used to quickly plan and install customised complete systems. This makes replacement with our lubrication- and maintenance-free bearings for the packaging industry child's play.
